  • You should expect to experience reasonable wait times during normal dinner hours on weekends (between 6 and 8pm). It is easier to get a quick table on weekdays, especially before 6pm and after 8pm. If there is a wait we will take your number and text you when a table is ready. While you wait, we encourage you to get a drink at the bar, or next door at either Bear & Bottle or Drackenbergs. Wait time estimates depend on a variety of factors such as day of the week, the weather, and how quickly tables ahead you move on with their evening. We appreciate your patience and kindness with our hosts who are always doing their best to estimate wait times as accurately as possible!

  • We have been experimenting with rental options and have been able to make a handful of options work for ful restaurant, bar area, or our side dining room. To make an inquiry please email matt@lolasmadison.com and include as much info as you can — ideal date or day of week, hours of the day, number of people, whether you would need something totally private or not, and anything you would want done with food and drink. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

  • Unfortunately we do not (though we do have small hangers underneath the bar). Given our convenient parking lot, we recommend leaving your coat in the car or at home if you can as we simply don’t have much room to accommodate puffy Wisconsin winter coats!

  • Lola’s is named after and inspired by our dear friend Lola Otto, owner and bartender of Lola’s Tomcat Lounge in St. Nazianz, WI. Lola is a beautiful 86 years young and her bar is pretty much our favorite place in the world. Go see her for a High Life and tell her we sent ya!

  • Hi/Lo encapsulates the juxtaposition of “Wisconsin fancy” as a Midwestern spin on the HiFi bar. It’s our hi-fi love letter to the low brow! High end sound, finishes and quality food and cocktails…but with a low brow attitude, plenty of canned beer, and presented in a fun and lively atmosphere that will always feel like home.

  • Yes, our banquet seating areas are very flexible seating areas for accommodating ADA needs.

  • We do in fact have TVs that drop down from above our bar. We’re big sports fans here, just like you….but we are not a sports bar, and we will almost always try to keep the Lola’s experience focused around great music, food, cocktails and vibes. So we will only bring our TVs down for Packer games, Badger football games, Bucks and Brewers playoff games, and occasionally movies. If you’re wanting to watch a game that doesn’t fit that criteria, we recommend visiting our friends from Bear & Bottle across the parking lot. Thanks for understanding!

  • Yes to all! Click here to see our full menu for all the details.

  • HiFi is short for High Fidelity which is the reproduction of sound with little distortion so that it sounds as close to the intended studio sound as possible. We’ll play a lot of vinyl records here through a great sound system, and the space has been acoustically treated to ensure great sound that allows the music to be heard, but our space to be always be conversational. You’ll find the HiFi bar concept is gaining popularity at the moment, here is a good read if you’re not familiar!

  • Absolutely not! Go Hi or go Lo, we don’t care. Just come as you are.

  • Not exactly! That is K-13 which is an acoustic treatment that makes everything in our space sound sublime.

  • We will occasionally have DJs curating music during dinner service and late night. Though we will offer a lot of great music (primarily from the 60s era of jazz and soul/funk) we plan to always have Lola’s be warm and conversational. In fact, we went to great lengths to ensure our space was acoustically treated so that you could both enjoy great music and have a conversation at the same time. A novel concept for a restaurant! Click here for our full music calendar.

  • We are closed every Tuesday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook for other closing announcements.

  • We have Lola’s traditional “Spin of the Day” wheel, as well as a pull tab machine! Our kids menu also has fun games for the kiddos too!

  • Though we are fairly specific in our musical leanings to establish the right vibe, we are always open to hearing from DJs that may be interested in spinning here. Please email matt@lolasmadison.com for inquiries.
