It’s a special edition of Funky Friday on September 19th as we salute “The Funky Drummer” — Mr. Clyde Stubblefied in support of the emerging documentary about his life and influence, “Give The Drummer Some”.

Who is Clyde Stubblefied, you ask? Clyde Stubblefield and his drumming as part of James Brown's band not only shaped the sound of funk music but hip-hop music, too. His iconic breakbeat from "Funky Drummer" influenced hip-hop culture and music, with the drum groove having been sampled over 1,300 times, according to whosampled.com.

DJs Chuck Money (5pm) and Phil Money (9pm) will take you on a tour of the music he created with James Brown, mixed with any and all music that was influenced by or sampled his beats!

On the last Wednesday of each month we take a break from our regularly schedule Vinyl Listening Parties to bring you a tour of nothing but classic country vinyl with everything from Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Cash to anything with a little touch of twang.
